Our zinc-plated thread rods are manufactured from carbon steel with a protective electroplated zinc coating that provides effective corrosion resistance at a more economical price point compared to stainless steel alternatives. The zinc plating process involves electrodepositing a thin layer of zinc onto the rod surface, offering protection against rust and oxidation in indoor environments and moderate outdoor exposure. Various plating thicknesses are available, typically ranging from 5 to 15 microns, with optional chromate conversion coatings (yellow, clear, black, or olive drab) to enhance corrosion protection and provide aesthetic options.
