Our hexagon heavy steel structure bolt features a heavy hex head geometry, which provides a larger bearing surface and increased head height compared to standard hex bolts, making it ideal for demanding steel-to-steel connections such as bridges, high-rise buildings, industrial plants, and heavy machinery. These bolts are quenched and tempered to achieve a minimum tensile strength of 1040 MPa (for diameters M12 to M36), placing them at property class 10.9. As dedicated high strength bolts for construction, we offer both Type 1 (alloy steel for general use) and Type 3 (weathering steel with atmospheric corrosion resistance). Proper installation requires hardened washers and matching high-strength nuts (e.g., ASTM A563M Grade 10S or 10S3), while hot-dip galvanizing is generally not recommended due to the risk of hydrogen embrittlement.
